About Us
As we embark on the second half of our 2007-2008 Performing Arts Season, I invite you to take advantage of the many unique opportunities to experience the arts right here in your own back yard.
We continue to bring you the very best that the world of contemporary dance has to offer. We are proud to follow our two successful performances by the Martha Graham Dance company last fall with the Mark Morris Dance Group's unique meld of live music with dance. We finish up our dance season with a collaborative effort by Urban Bush Women and Compagnie Jant-Bi of Senegal as they perform a work commissioned by our partner DANCECleveland.
Enjoy the wide variety of musical performance options that await you from gospel music to hip-hop to jazz. Our presentation of the Harlem Gospel choir features some of the finest singers and musicians from the churches of Harlem. Our campus residency with the Watts Prophets will give you an opportunity to grasp first hand the intricacies of putting together a hip-hop performance and be part of one of these special presentations. In a special tribute to Duke Ellington, the Turtle Island Quartet will join forces with vibraphonist Stefon Harris, showcased during our first Tri-C MusicFest Cleveland this past July. As we wrap up the 2007-2008 season, don't miss the 29th Annual Tri-C JazzFest Cleveland, April 17-27 as we bring to you the best that the jazz world has to offer.
