Media Arts

If you seek a career in the application of art and design in motion media along with the fundamentals of strategic communications, Tri-C has a program for you. In MARS you'll discover the power of story structure in communications. You'll explore the craft of storytelling, whether it be to entertain, teach, motivate, sell or provoke with examples from film, television, literature, commercials, music videos, even video games. You will receive hands-on training in the basics of the media production process, then proceed to specialty training in a specific area, including video editing, motion graphics and production. You will also study production planning, scheduling and budgeting for real-world projects that use high-end equipment and facilities. Expert faculty and industry partnerships prepare you for a media job or for transfer to a four-year program.

Tri-C offers an Associate of Applied Business degree in Media Arts & Studies.Tri-C also offers Short Term Certificates in Motion Graphics and Visual Storytelling, and in Digital Video Editing and a degree concentration in Digital Video and Filmmaking. Graduates are prepared for the following positions:

• Short and feature filmmaker

• Visual effects producer

• Online video content creator

• Motion graphics designer
